Privacy Policy
Version 1.3 — Last updated: August 2026
4Ravu L.L.C. ("4Ravu," "we," "our," or "us"), a New Jersey limited liability company, operates SmartRetireCalc ("the Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when using our calculators, including ages, account balances, and contribution amounts. This information is transmitted securely to our servers to perform the calculation and return your results. It is used solely to generate your results and is not stored on our servers unless you create an account and save a plan.
Cookies & Analytics
We use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. It reports anonymous, aggregate usage data only (e.g. which pages are visited).
Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on a small number of service providers to operate the site: privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible), an authentication provider for optional account sign-in, and one or more third-party or self-hosted AI providers used only if you choose to use the AI Retirement Assistant. Each is used solely to provide the corresponding feature and is not used to sell or market to you.
AI Retirement Assistant
If you use the AI Retirement Assistant, your messages are transmitted to a third-party or self-hosted AI backend to generate a response. Conversations are not stored in a database; identical questions may be cached temporarily in server memory (up to about an hour) to improve performance, and only non-content metadata (such as response length) is logged — not your message text. AI-generated responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated, are not professional advice, and should be independently verified before you rely on them. Please avoid entering sensitive personal identifiers (such as a Social Security number or full account numbers) into the chat. The AI Retirement Assistant may reference publicly available information, but it does not have access to your financial institution accounts, Social Security records, IRS records, or other government systems. AI-generated responses are produced automatically and may not reflect the most current laws, regulations, or guidance.
AI Retirement Advisor (Optimization Explanations)
The AI Retirement Advisor is a separate, optional feature from the AI Retirement Assistant chat described above, and involves a different kind of data. If you choose to use it (by selecting “Why is this recommended?” within the Retirement Checkup’s Find Opportunities tool), a summary of your retirement plan’s computed figures — such as projected account balances, estimated taxes, ages, and the specific recommended change — is transmitted to a third-party or self-hosted AI provider to generate a plain-language explanation. This is not free-typed chat content; it is a structured summary of numbers your plan has already calculated. Explanations are not stored in a database. The AI does not calculate, rank, or choose the recommendation itself — that determination is made entirely by our deterministic calculation engine before the AI ever sees it; the AI only explains a result already produced. AI-generated explanations may be incomplete or imprecise, are not professional advice, and should be independently verified. Before this feature is used for the first time, you will see a dedicated notice describing what is sent and naming the AI provider, separate from your acceptance of these Terms; you can decline it and continue using every other retirement-planning feature normally.
Data Storage
If you create a free account, only the retirement plans you explicitly choose to save are stored securely in your account. Calculator use without signing in is not stored on our servers. We do not automatically save calculator inputs unless you choose to save a plan while signed in. You may delete your saved plans at any time using the My Plans menu within your account.
Example Scenarios (Published by Administrators)
From time to time, SmartRetireCalc administrators publish illustrative example scenarios (e.g. “Can a 60-year-old retire with $1.2 million?”) that are viewable by anyone who has the link. These examples are authored by our administrators using fictional or generalized figures — they are not, and never contain, real user data or personal information. This is separate from, and does not affect, the saved-plan privacy described above.
Retirement Journey (Saved Checkpoints)
If you choose to use the Retirement Journey feature by selecting “Save a Checkpoint” within the Retirement Checkup, we store a dated snapshot of your checkup results (including your plan inputs, projected balances, health score, and, if requested, optimization results) so you can track how your retirement readiness changes over time. This is an explicit, user-initiated action — we never create a checkpoint automatically. Checkpoints are stored only for as long as you keep them: you may delete an individual checkpoint at any time from the Retirement Journey page, and deleting a saved plan automatically deletes all of its checkpoints as well. Checkpoints are not shared with any third party and are used solely to display your own history back to you.
Action Center (Recommendation Tracking)
When you save a checkpoint, we also derive and store which recommendations (such as delaying Social Security, a Roth conversion, or an adjustment to spending or retirement age) were surfaced by that checkup, together with whether you later marked each one Dismissed or Implemented, and when. This lets the Action Center avoid repeating a suggestion you’ve already dismissed or acted on. Dismissing or marking a recommendation Implemented is a self-reported record of your choice — it does not change your saved plan’s inputs and is not verified against them. This history is stored only for as long as the underlying plan exists and is automatically deleted when you delete that plan; it is never shared with any third party and is used solely to display your own recommendation history back to you.
Your Rights & Data Control
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your saved plans and account data at any time via your account, or by contacting us.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your retirement plan data to build advertising profiles or for targeted marketing. We do not share your retirement plan information with third parties except as necessary to provide the services described in this Privacy Policy.
Children's Privacy
SmartRetireCalc is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, children under the age of 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Registered users may be required to review and explicitly accept material changes before continuing to use saved plan features.
Effective Date
This Privacy Policy is effective as of the “Last updated” date shown above.
